Unfortunately I have come to learn these things go right over some peoples heads. He should have figured out what kinda thread this was when people were recommending that Tv stands should be added to the list of things you need for the PS4/XB1 which would also jack up its price.
This is a topic where you can't make an objectively winning argument. It all comes down to subjective preferences.
For someone like me who is mostly traveling I welcome the Switch. A PS4 or XboxOne are not portable and a lower price on these consoles still wouldn't make me buy one. I simply see no value since I also got a PC. So when I am at home, I prefer to play on the PC rather then on one of these 2. I haven't used my WII U for some time now with the exception of crunchyroll.

Not to mention that you need house to play with a PS4 or a Xbox, meanwhile the Switch can be charged at work or a library. Switch is the perfect console for homeless people.
