I think so, if this thing works, you may be able to modify your save data with the software and give youself all the trophies of the game if you want.

From what I'm reading, yes. I believe it also gives you free Trophies (hence the eye catching thread title). This needs to be stopped quickly before it discredits the Trophy system itself. It would never be a trusted system ever again. This needs to be ended now because if it isn't, this narrative will stick for a very long time, and I'm talking generational here. This IS BAD.

If I were MS looking at this, right now I'd be getting my PR men to write me a narrative of 'trust'. That's a killer move right there. Fingers crossed MS are stupid.

I don't think so for the trophies, because it doesn't depend on the save file but on the actions you do in game (for most of them anyway). It will maybe get you the "Get max XP" trophies but not the "Kill this enemy or succeed in this action" ones. 

This thing seems to just change your save files in order to get a bonus in game (better stats, XP, etc... No need for grinding). I don't see what it has to do with PSN as said in the thread's title either. 

I also think things like this existed before, at least on the PS and PS2, maybe the PS3 too. 

It would only work for offline titles, any online game worth its salt would store all of that information server side, besides you don't need a fancy dongle to do this, just a little programming know how and a USB stick.

You cannot unlock trophies with this, the trophy has to be triggered by a live event, the only time that isn't the case if for poorly coded titles (SOCOM on PS3 as an example, where loading an edited save have all trophies), giving yourself trophies on hacked ps3's is different too, because you were in actual fact editing the trophy store on the ps3's database then syncing that to PSN, because of that additional checks were put in place so even if you had full access to editing the PS4 HDD files you would at best, get yourself banned.

There were ways to cheat Trophies on PS3 if you had CFW installed, equally there's ways to do it on Vita now. If there's a way of telling if a save file has been modified they will just get banned. If someone suddenly gets a ton of trophies instantly, they will be banned.

It's not going to be a disaster, because people were able to cheat trophies/achievements on ps3/360. 

But as Nato and others say, it's limited in it's use anyway, as most trophies are only activated when performing the event.

I don't understand exactly. If people want to cheat to get trophies who cares? You can still work toward getting the trophies you want right? This doesn't give them a competitive advantage does it?

We had gameshark and powersave before, so yea i dont think sony will do anything abt it
