So the media was spreading lies due to incompetence as usual, what a surprise.

How is this different from the topic we got yesterday?

Yesterday: "Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima says that he’s thinking about a successor to the popular Nintendo 3DS system. Kimishima believes there’s still a market for one despite the ever growing popularity of mobile devices. The Nintendo 3DS continues to do well for Nintendo so that’s something he and the development team are looking into."

Today: "About a new portable, he explained that Nintendo is always thinking about its next game device, so the answer is “We are always thinking about it” rather than there is or there isn’t a 3DS successor. ""

Nowhere did it state that there is or isn't going to be a 3DS successor. Just that Nintendo are considering it.

One may be a hint at a new handheld, the other is clear and empty PR talk.

No it isn't.
A console developer always thinks about a potential successor to a system. That is a given.

This is different from Shuhei Yoshida's statement for example that "the climate for dedicated handheld gaming is not good due to the mobile market", which added a negative impression about the possibilities of Vita 2.

But this is the extent of your reading comprehension and definition of "fake media news"?

Thinking about = Hint at a new handheld?
Always thinking about = PR talk?

I'll save this for future conversations then, because you seem very dishonest.

Who are you to call me dishonest without basis? Why the hell are those things allowed here?

The way both sentences are worded makes you think in differen things, that's exactly what the article is talking about,  all the media was sayinbg "Nintendo hints at a new 3ds" when they were giving a completely neutral comment.

Feel free to save my comment, I don't have a clue why you need it for, but next time take your insinuations and put them where the sun doesn't hit.

"Nintendo will keep considering it as always."

"We are always thinking about it"

This pretty clearly shows that a 3DS successor is in consideration as much as it was beforehand. A 3DS successor theoretically could happen, but this doesn't mean it's under heavy consideration or development; which most people thought it did. These "little details" provide a bigger context of the statement - considering that they've previously talked about the 3DS being a budget variant with a 1000 game library it only makes sense to provide an open ended conclusion to keep that market alive until they milk it dry.

The same was said with the Wii U and the Switch and the Gameboy and DS. Nothing points to it ever coming to fruitition and that tweet was a mistranslation / misunderstanding that people thought meant something more than it actually did.

What heavy consideration?

Yesterday: "Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima says that he’s thinking about a successor to the popular Nintendo 3DS system. There was nothing mentioned about heavy consideration.

Addmitedly my wording is very bad; apologies on this part.

My point being that with a wider context we can see a much larger indication of it being considered as much as it was beforehand, yet there was a sudden spike of interest recently due to the ambigiuous statement by Kimishima which doesn't change this - but all other factors including their previous statements and the merging of their software divisions point against it, but this is now stretching into opinionated / speculative talk. The tweet itself only displayed a part of the whole statement, which provides much less indication of a 3DS successor being closer to fruition than the original tweet implied.

I will change the title as while I didn't intend it to be such it is quite clickbaity.

He concluded by saying that there is a different demand and market for 3DS as a portable system from Switch

Exactly what I was saying in the other thread.

If this market doesn't accept the Switch, we will see another handheld (new 3DS or handheld Switch) made for this market. So they are obviously thinking about it, just like any company thinks about a plan B when they take a risk.
