Forums - Gaming - Nintendo addresses "weak" Switch launch lineup

It's got Zelda at launch. That's all it really needs.

Why? Because demand is going to overshadow supply regardless. Adding more games now isn't going to make a difference. You can't sell what you don't have in stock.

Launch always goes relatively well. You can count on the die-hard fans to convince themselves that a new console is the next PS2 even if all you have is FIFA and a collection of 8-bit indies. It's more important to continue momentum and to have new titles releasing during key retail periods.

I'm with Nintendo on this one.

I'm with the cat on this one... somehow.

I don't agree with quantity over quality and think its the wrong logic and will do damage to the Switch especially at the pricing level but good news about 3DS, I've a feeling they will be thankful for 3DS existence in the coming months. Personally I'd like to get a 'new 3DS' at some point.

That's not what he's saying.

Maybe not but its what I'm saying as the titles offered look mostly terrible to me and of a very low performance level yet pricing is sky high. Personally I'm not interested and its near enough completely destroyed my interest in buying a Switch. As much as I love Nintendo games I really don't want this awful product.

"Weak" is a bit of an understatement, lol.

Oh yes, they only have the potential GOTG dfor launch, absolutely horrible.

If you're countin breath of the wild as part of the 9th generation, then that is highly unlikely.

Nope, is a game from this current gen

Given the demand not sure Nintendo needs a strong launch. Zelda and brand will sustain them for first three months, then see if Mario Kart and Splatoon 2 can keep momentum going or not.

I get the idea that it is better to have a game a month than a huge launch and then a drought for four months.
