PS4, while having a lot of good exclusives, this is only argubly the second killer app for the console. Very exicted, first game this year which I'm buying on day one. The hype is real.

OMG I figured it out! I know why it felt weird to me when people kept comparing this to Zelda and now I know why! This is fucking Shadows of Mordor/Batman series with a bigger map after watching the game play! BotW is not even the same style of game!

edit: obviously without the melee parts, I'm talking about the ARPG elements.

What does killer app mean?

like you release it, then it kills people in cold blood.

The one exclusive thats sort of the system seller and "the one game" to have.

Eg . Xbox Halo 5, Gears 4

PS4 Uncharted 4, Horizon zero dawn

You don't always need a killer ap, obv if you like japanese games you own a ps4 over a xbox and if you like racing games you own a xbox over a ps4

But yes a killer app is a game that sells a console, a game that convinces you to pick it up, uncharted 4 deff has this and bloodborne did 2, apart from that its been scarse, but not just on the ps4 side. Its been slow from first parties, but this year looks promising!

Agreed. PS4 has so many good smaller games that it more than make up for it.

Agreed again. This year looks like the best year for Playstation4 yet. Hopefully Detroit releases before the year ends. Also Crackdown 3 is a much bigger game than people think. And of course Nintendo has the big guns with 3 huge games. But then again, the Wii u was nothing BUT killer apps, which was bad.

Too much hype IMO. I hope the game lives up to it, but the pedestal it's been put on is already so high that it will take a lot for the game to live up to the hype.

I am looking forward to it, but I am not mega excited for it. And I do care about story and script, so if that's meh that is a concern. And I think we can all mostly agree the GG has always been pretty good in the gameplay and gfx department but it's been their story / campaign that has been criticised as weak.

Also the reason HZD is compared by some to Zelda: they both have words starting with Z in the name?

The millions of great smaller games were what fuelled the PS4. The top 30 sold PS4 games according to VGchartz(I know its inaccurate, but it can't be too inaccurate) only consist of 3 PS4 exclusives, two of which are remasters. The killer app is supposed to be a system seller, and the main game that encourages the audience to buy a PS4. Not saying that Bloodborne, Infamous, Ratchet, Last Guardian don't shift PS4's, it's just that Uncharted is the one and only standout game that shifts far more units than anything out there. It's the clear front-runner for PS4 right now

Tell me another PS4 exclusive that had a similar impact to Uncharted, or even TLOU remaster.

I'm not criticizing the PS4. It doesn't matter that system sellers are only starting to arrive.
