Obama administration created the list of countries that Trump used. They were marked as terrorist threats over last few years by Obama. It has zero to do with Trump's businesses, it has a lot to do with the Petro dollar I think though.

Also these 7 countries were marked for an Obama executive order that puts restrictions on Visas for people visiting these countries. Trump further expanded this and made it a 90 day suspension of the Visa until Homeland security can improve vetting.

Yeah but things have changed since then. The other thing is why didn't people complain about immigration limitations before? The truth is that even before Trump people just couldn't come to the US.
