Today at 15:00 GMT, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists will announce whether the minute hand of the historic “Doomsday Clock” will be adjusted.
During Obama's reign, the clock was already advanced by two minutes, and is currently at three minutes to midnight ("doomsday"); the only time it has ever been closer to midnight/doomsday was during the 1950s.
On the one hand, the election of Donald Trump instead of warmonger Killary may have slightly reduced the danger of a military conflict between the USA and Russia, which could easily escalate into a nuclear world war 3.
But with many global problems like climate change, inequality etc. still getting worse, many people still expect the clock to be advanced by at least one minute.
