I wasn't planning on buying the game soon. Didn't think the new formula with 1st person would work and Capcom not being great lately, but the user impressions and reviews  say it's a return to form of the series in the survival horror genre while also being a rebirth with fresh new ideas. Now on top of Yakuza 0 and Gravity Rush 2, I want this so bad.

Not sure since I haven't played it, though in my eyes it will have to compete with The Evil Within, which is imo the best horror game done in recent years.

RE7 and alien isolation are my picks for best horror games in this gen

I currently playing,so far so good,but it is not Resident Evil,my brother finished yesterday he said is much better than RE5 or RE6 (is not as hard to achieve) but is not a classic RE,it's like a reboot

From all I heard and read, it seems so.At the very least, it seems better than RE 5 and waaaaay better than RE 6.And seems a return to form for the original RE games.

Ive been playing RE7 and while its a well done game, its nothing mind blowing, the story is horror film cliche and it gets a bit slow, so I'd have to say no, Dying Light, Until Dawn or Alien Isolation are better horror games IMO.
