Forums - Gaming - Capcom: we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch

Let's compare a third party game for the Switch like STEEP:

1. Intel Core i7 3770k at 3.5 Ghz or AMD FX 8350 at 4. Ghz
2. 8gb ram
3. Gforce 970 or Radeon R9 390 (This are good cards)
4. Direct X 11

This setting target 1080 p 30fps

So how in the world a very demanding game is on Switch but a other game less demanding is not?? LOL

Well, have we actually seen Steep on Switch? I don't think it will look like it does on PC.

Eh, that's Capcom and the Japanese publishing perspective in general. I don't know why they split up games and franchises then maybe bring over a port years later.

Sometimes I think they make decisions using a Magic 8-Ball.

Unfortunately is not surprisisng but sucks nonetheless

I can asure you it will be a good port, because PC specs are always inflated compared with consoles.

The reasons why they are not porting RE7 rigth now are everything except specs, that's the real topic here.

Everyone is probably taking a wait and see approach. It will be up to Nintendo to sell this system in the first year and create a userbase that third party publishers want to be on. Though at the very least, it has to get Resident Evil 4! Everything gets RE4!

Yeah, they need more users on the platform, but to think is because specs just denoted how ignorant people can be on the tech side of things.

We can make a million threads about the games Switch isn't getting. I'm just going to stay hyped up for the games it IS getting. I'll wait for future announcements but I don't expect a lot of third party support for a while.

But let's remember that AAA third party support isn't all third party support. Switch will get games from Capcom, Altus, Sega, Bandai, Aksys, etc. It'll get Western indies. Plus the combined first party support of 3DS and WiiU.

Too many folks look past these titles and see only the empty space where Resident Evil or Titanfall 2 should be. They assume that AAA games are what makes a console worthwhile. The success of Wii, 3DS, and DS, and the failure of WiiU and Vita prove otherwise.

People are buying the consoles for those games, sure Capcom is gonna make games for Switch, but what game you think will push a system more? A new Mvs.C or yet another port of SF2?
