Forums - Gaming - Are consoles available for pre-orders after the reveal?

based on your experiences pre ordering consoles online, are they available right after the reveal or presentation? My switch is secured, but I need to pre-order a second one and I would like to do it via Amazon, the thing is that I don't know the trend if I will have to refresh the page every 5 seconds during the presentation and after?

I'm tired of seeing these people with secured Switches! Get outta here!

So jealous, more than you know.

Is this the gamestop friend that got you to make the RDR2/Butt thread?

In my experience they`re available to preorder as soon as they have a name...

well Nintendo is complicated as fuck.

I asked today about Switch pre-orders and they're still not available. Ugh, the wait is killing me! I'm getting nervous that getting a Switch will actually be difficult on release...

Wii Amiibos, NES classic, Devils third, scalpers, etc etc - what would give you that worry?

Oh right that fact Nintendo doesn't know how to stock properly. And most likely does it on purpose to get free advertising.

Oh and Jan 12th announcement is at such a weird time for many people. IE for me it is 10 PM cst, followed by 8:30 AM cst. Both very awkard.

Well, following the Wii U, I feel it's kinda hard to gauge how well the Switch is going to do. At 1st, I wasn't worried about the Switch, but now I'm feeling that off chance that it could have a very good launch (or just limited launch).

I have to think Nintendo learned from NES Classic and this is just about the latest they've ever waited to fully announce a console prior to its launch date (I think). I have to think they are forcing retailers to wait until reveal for final prices and launch dates to open up the pre-orders. I know I'll have my phone's Amazon app refreshing the Switches page before and during event.

Yes the wii U does very much throw things into chaos. You have the most sought after console in a long time, followed by the least. Then you have the NES classic.  It is very much wanted, but is also very cheap and not ment for mass production.

So I'm probably going to be up "late" tomorrow hitting refresh trying to pre-order something that depending on the games I won't even be touching for 6 months. Because I'm afraid it will take 12 months to get it if I don't.

I'm just going to try pre-ordering from Gamestop the next day, or keep checking when pre-orders open and hope for the best! : S
