Interesting, I wonder how much it cost to Nintendo to have a timed exclusivity for such a peculiar title

Nothing. Why would Nintendo ever pay for timed exclusivity?

There is nothing unusual about Ubisoft having an exclusive in the works for a new Nintendo system, that's standard practice just like being the third party publisher with the most launch window titles.

But how do you explain them prioritizing the game on a platform where basically none of its fans are? It's surely not because it's the main platform or because it's so much easier to develop it on the Switch. Ubisoft isn't an indie studio that has to work on one platform at a time. The exclusive titles they're usually making for Nintendo are standalone and made for that platform. That's not a case for this one at all.

Are you sure there is not a deal going on here?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

My guess is Nintendo didn't pay outright or only paid very little.

This is the return for letting Ubi Soft use Mario characters in Mario x Rabbids RPG.

Do we know that Nintendo ever made a temp exclusive deal for a third party game...?

I follow Gaming news a lot, but cannot remember that Nintendo paid for a timed deal. It was either a deal like you are suggesting or outright exclusivity for a game.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I don´t see any problem with that. Unless, of course, if they repeat that awful situation they had with Rayman Legends (having hyped game completed and ready to launch and delay it in the last minute due to poor management decisions)

let's hope this bring some sales to switch

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

My god. Nintendo money hatting? Next we will see Princess Peach on the street corner in stockings and high heels. Her pimp Mario can be a dick.

Hey! They got SONY on my amiibo! Wait a minute. Two great gaming tastes that game great together!

I waited this long...what's another year or so...

None of it's fans? The original sold less than a million copies between the 3 of them, this is a niche game with a cult following, don't expect it to sell gangbusters regardless.
