Games that are incredibly short and have nothing left to do once the credits roll like most campaign in first and third person shooters.

Even though I love 3D Zelda, I wouldn't wanna go back and replay them. Once I beat a Zelda game, I go back on Youtube and look up some quests and cutscenes and music. Almost the same thing with 3D Mario and 2D Mario. Any story mode games I don't like replaying.

Any game that the main focus is the story (like visual novels).

It applies the same as like reading a book or a watching a movie twice. You might want to check it again after a few years when you don't remember all the story details, but is not something you will play constantly or often.

And besides, most story driven games are puzzle based, so when you know how to solve the puzzles, the gameplay loses it's charm.

It's as though good, replayable games are like songs. You can keep repeating them until you get bored and you'll always remember the lyrics(how to play).

Campaigns/stories are like films/boxsets in that they have no reward for replaying unless it's years later.

Visual Novels I will at least give them this on a lot of them do have branching paths in the story even more so then just about any AAA game.

I used to replay games a lot when I was younger, though looking back, it was mostly due to having a surplus of time and a limited number of games. Now that I'm older, I have more games, but less time to play them...which basically means replaying games falls right to the bottom of my backlog. And when I have 20+ new games to play, replays pretty much fall off entirely.

This is largely why I've grown to dislike long RPGs that give important extra content in the 2nd playthrough. Unless the game is a 10/10...there's basically no chance I'll experience this extra content.

I played all of Telltales games on Youtube.

Still feel ripped off.

For me rpg's, for the most part I can't play them more than once.

I get bored of games after 1 playthrough for the most part.

Only my favorites games or creative playthrough games get more time.

The same is true for books, movies, tv shows. As for songs, I get bored of them quickly too, but they take a few more tries. However much less times then most people in my experience. Even watching someone play a game, will make me not want to play that game, because I feel like I already played it.

So even though Bioshock had a great campaign, I only played through it once or twice and thus it had no replayability.

Games with a long, immemorable campaign. (If the campaign is memorable - be it for story or gameplay - then I might pop it back in at a later date.) I never immediately replay a game.

Inside. Good game - but no reason to play it again once you are done.

The only games I could not play again were the Last of Us and FF13. I tried playing TLoU again, but got bored and quit. FF13 however would hurt me if I tried again.
