I really enjoy this sub genre of games but outside of rollercoaster tycoon and railroad tycoon everything seems to be a bit crap, if anyone can reccomend any, i'd be greatful

Tycoon Tycoon. You manage departments of managers that direct directors to direct managers that manage themselves.

It sounds terrible, but I use to have a Drug Lord game on my pc...I can't remember what it was called though.

You had to trade different types of drugs and run a successful operation. Big time involved supply and demand and offering the right drugs in the right quantities at the right time.

Google "Industry Player" , it's a somewhat detailed business Sim. You choose an industry to sell you product in (some industries have more competiton/demand then others) then you work your way up the rankings and so on.

I can't remember it exactly but it's both informative and fun (more fun than informative though).

How about Gazillionaire? I've never played it but it seems to be a good game.

Theme Hospital is intersting and I enjoyed it because it was pretty funny. There is a business sim for school called Virtual Business. It's probably not something you can get for cheap, but it's literally a simulation of running a convienence store in a city. I played it in high school for my marketing course, it was interesting.

I'd recommend DinoPark Tycoon except it's an ancient DOS game and I'm not sure where you could buy or download it. Was a fun game. Basically you get to run your own Jurassic Park, but with far less carnage and death, and absolutely no Jeff Goldblum or Sam Neil. Hire employes, buy and sell Dinos at auction, build fences so they stop running away. Good stuff.
