400 price point could make me jump ship on ps4. ive played most of the games i want to

Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda Muda!!!!

I wouldn't doubt it. I don't think it would be sold at a profit, but as it has an extra year against the Pro it can pack a lot of cost reductions.

It's quite probable that Sony will be able to cut the price of the Pro by at least 50 bucks. If MS opts for 500 dollars, they will have quite a premium tag to justify. I know, better graphics and such, but that's it. 4K Blu-Ray is a niche thing that won't secure a lot of sales, Blu-Ray is completely dead and everyone would rather buy digital copies or just stream it. With just 50 bucks of difference they would at least have a fighting chance.

If Sony manages to cut the Pro to 300 dollars (which is hard), then nothing else matters and Scorpio is DOA.

People buying Scorpio are buying it because of power. Same with Pro. It doesn't matter if Pro is cheaper. It's weaker. People will pay a premium for it.

People are buying them to pair with 4K TVs. Right now, they will be a fraction of sales. Some years down the road, they may even replace the regular models to ensure a long gen.

People want power but they also lack money. Price cuts of 50 bucks already made huge differences for consoles, most consumers are restrained by budget. People without budget constraints who want power will buy a PC and slap two GTX 1080 and play in 4K or get a 144 hz monitor. Then they will get all consoles to play the exclusives and call it a day. They are a niche. If they weren't, AAA games would sell better on PC instead of consoles because all gamers would be rich enough to buy PCs.

These models are here just to avoid the drop we saw in the last gen when it reached its 6th year. Consoles were so weak that you could buy a low-end GPU and beat them. Pro and Scorpio will avoid that and guarantee that consoles keep the C/B advantage during long gens, that are the norm now.

I think it's quite hard too see Scorpio outselling the Pro. The PS4 sells much more, the tendency will remain. Both will satisfy a percentage of consumers that have more cash. Scorpio would have to, proportinally to the base unit, sell twice the Pro.

People who want power don't "lack money." It's a premuim product for a reason. People willing to spend $400 on a PS4 Pro today will be willing to buy something better for the same price next year. Scorpio isn't just going to only benefit 4K either. PCs aren't a factor when it comes to consoles.

I never said Scorpio would outsell PS4 Pro, but it definitely won't be DOA just because a weaker machine costs less when people are buying these products to have a stronger machine.

I don't believe beleive anything that is said about this system. Way to soon and ms could change anything between now and then.

Hes very optimistic.

with all the beast spec it provided, people really think it going sell at such a low price? seriously??

400 would be a baller price! Compare that to a gaming PC.
