Forums - General - Youtube HDR Support on Samsung TV's (2016) released.

For anyone who bothers with it.

The current HDR Smart TV's don't support HDR on their youtube app, yet. Samsung is the first one whos Youtube app will now also support HDR. The update is now live and will automatically update the Youtube app on a Samsung TV. The update is only for the 2016 models on Samsungs TV's.

I am really suprised that it took so long. Now I can watch HDR content on youtube soon :)

That's why you have an HDMI cable from your PC to your TV.

I do. But it's a bit tricky displaying 10 bit, 60hz 4k and hdr through a 10 meter hdmi cable. You need a bandwith at 18gb/s. But even that, at this length can be problematic.

HDR gaming on PC is still at the beginning.

I do watch youtube at the TV by controlling it via smarthpone. It's easier than setting it up via HDMI cable from the PC.
