i live life by a few simple rules. one of those rules states "you will either love something before you hate it or hate something before you love it"

and it holds true so many times. when i hate something, it does me a lot of good just to be vocal about why i hate it. that way i can have a bit of closure, which could lead me to trying it for a second time and seeing the good in it. alternatively i could love something for years before realizing its flaws and then by going on a rant i am able to move on and blissfully forget about it. being vocal about your problems just help

I've never heard that quote before but I love it and I'm going to steal it.

I don't read or comment on Nintendo or Sony forums. Negative opinions are ok of course but if you comment about something you're not interested in or was never going to play it then why would anyone give a crap about your view?

You're nice guy !

I generally don't. But I also don't hate any console. Because that's just silly. Consoles are plastic and circuitry. Wasting hate on that is silly.

To re-iterate. If you hate a console and feel the need to spread your opinion on it, you are silly.

It's better to hate a piece of plastic than a person man, because the first you won't hurt with your feelings

I never said hating people was good either.  That is also silly.

But not as silly as hating plastic and circuitry.

The next 5-10 years of video games is determined by what people try, buy and play today.  So as long as we discuss what we like and what we don't we can determine what the future of gaming will bring us!

Believe it when you are told that game companies are listening to you on these forums. I have college friend that works at Microsft in the gaming division and he says the xb1 devs are on sites like this everyday starting dicussions and seeing what people have to say.

I know at least 3 or 4 lovely people at Oculus/Facebook that do some of their brainstorming in forums just like this... VR was reborn in an thread just like this one. From one guy building it in his garage and a icon in the game industry seeing it and wanting to try it.(don't beleive it ...check out this link!)

 http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=140&t=14777k

Take Grand Theft Auto 5 for example. If there are some horrible things that people dont like...These dicussions on threads are a decent way for people to vent and let the community know what they like and what they don't like.  They can even go to game websites and check the forums they provide there. Once there is a way to get a consensus and people find they aren't alone in their frustrations you are more likely to come together on things you don't like about a game.  Telling someone shush if you don't like it don't play the game...encourages the unpopulars aspects of games and consoles to continue throughout the series. People invest lots of their time and money into tv and game systems. They have a right as a customers to voice their opinion even on games and consoles that havent been release...why...because this is America and the customer is always right.

The "stuff" we talk about in these forums is gold to game developers and console makers. The little posts about the why we think console sales are down.  The posts on why these people buy this...why people don't buy that.  How do I you know? BECAUSE THOSE PEOPLE ARE ON THESE FORUMS READING THESE THREADS! Do you think that every single poll on this website has been just made by sweaty guys sitting in dark little rooms. Sure a poll on this site might have a turnout of like 300 400 people...but....thats still better not having any data.

But really, I was an undercover Nintendo fan the whole time!

Anyone born before the 90's is an undercovernintendo fan!

In my opinion, humans have a natural tendency to feel self entitled. We must prove that our opinion/point is right over other's, for no reason but that natural tendency.

In many cases, people genuinely disagree with something And want to express that (especially when it seems that everyone but you agree on how amazing something is, when you find it trivial). And in most cases (internet forums wise regarding videogames) people are just entitled brats that have nothing better to do. Go to GameFAQS into the Wii U board, and it is filled with pessimism and people that have an agenda to follow. This forum is better when it comes to filter that out, but the obvious clickbait/"unpopular opinion"/"why...?" Threads are clearly the most popular and vile for a reason. You do the math.

To provide information and perspective.

If that was your intent, you utterly failed in the majority of cases.

You're entitled to your opinion.

Not true! I still see nightmares about NES games. Pretty much played them back in the day because nothing else was available 😋
