The Last Guardian Is Just 15GB

A PS3 game, indeed.

The Last Guardian has had one of the longest, most protracted development cycles in history, originally starting out as a PS3 game before going missing in action for the better part of a decade, and then re-emerging as a PS4 game. That fact is actually reflected in how big the game’s final file is going to be- according to a tweet made by someone who got their hands on a physical copy of the game early, the final file size for The Last Guardian is just 15GB.

The person also notes that the case for the game lacks a PS4 Pro icon, which may indicate that PS4 Pro enhancements have been delayed, and will be added later down the line as part of an update of a patch. Do remember, however, that for now, that remains unconfirmed.

The Last Guardian is due to (finally) release exclusively for PS4 on December 6.

15gb is good. Overwatch is like 10gb after updates.

I'm pretty sure if game developers compressed the sound files of game just a little instead of having them pretty much as raw data, I'd have more than 50gb left on my hard drive with like only 5 games installed from discs.

Seriously, Diablo had like 15gb of other languages I'll never use but had to install it.

...yes this was a slightly out of context rant.

I just downloaded GeOW 4, 80GB. 15GB is tiny lol.

Has there been any game length mentioned?

If not, this size would worry me. Most all games except Nintendo or purely online games, seem to have huge game file sizes. I would worry at only 15 gb that the game would be only like a 6 hour spat.

Uh yea. When has Team ICO ever created  a game that lasted more than 10 hours? ICO can be beat in 2 and SoTC can be beat under 10. The time game is extended due to replay value (Time trials, collectables, ext). No one should expect anything more.

15gb IS a bit on the small side these days. Isn't a good or bad thing in and of itself. Was watching Pew*****e play it for about 2 min. It's looking really good to me. Hope my impressions hold out to be accurate.

That's a tiny file size for the industry standards. Nintendo gets tons of hell if their games fit in a single layer disc.
And it's been 84 years, let's hope it doesn't let people down.
