If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
I have done similarly with GT5.
I had bought it in pre-order from UK, but on the release week of the game in Brazil Sony hold an event and I bought the game again to get it signed by a pro racer. My copy of the pre-order got in the country weeks later.
