Almost true, but not quite.  There was the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer bundle, and later the Super Mario 3D Land bundle that were the standard size and not XL.

Oh I didn't know they released the regular New 3DS in NA before this holiday season.

fricken scalpers have now taken the NES Mini and special edition N3DS, the only thing people truly cared about for Nintendo Hardware.
