Forums - Gaming - Making a Spiritual Adaptation Game?

TV Tropes defines Spiritual Adaptation as a work that, because of it's similarities to an earlier work, might as well be based on the latter despite being an original creation (sometimes better than official adaptations). EXAMPLE: Freedom Planet is the best Sonic game not made by Sega, and Undertale might as well be an Earthbound/Mother sequel.

With the nitty gritty out of the way, what are some already existing games (or even properties that originated from other mediums) that you would like to make a spiritual adaptation to?

I would gladly make a game that's as close to Star Fox as possible, since Nintendo hasn't given us a proper Star Fox game since Star Fox 64 3D, and with the failure of Star Fox Zero I doubt we'd ever get another one. Maybe the same with F-Zero, because as good as FAST Racing Neo is, it lacks the quirky characters F-Zero gave us.

Well.... Yooka-Laylee is coming so that's settled...

Redout just came out... and it looks like a ps4 Wipeout will be announced soon anyway.

I guess I'd have to say Mario Party, because the last several entries have been bad, but it'd need great character design to make up for not using Mario IP.
