3D Mario is new game, Pikmin 4 is a new game, rumored new Nintendo IP is obviously new games, Retro Project is a new game, Zelda (despite coming on Wii U also) it new games, those are only things we expect but likely there will be more Nintendo games and probably some other 2nd/3rd party exclusive.

And Pokemon Stars + Mario RPG.

This list is better than the Wii U's first year which was:

NSMBU, Nintendo Land, Wii Fit U, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, WindWaker HD, Mario 3D World.

Technically Mario 3D World was Wii U 2nd year game, so situation actually was far worse for Wii U. :)

Only new 3D Mario like launch title is much stronger than anything Wii U had in whole 1st year, not to mention other heavy hitters.

The same thing happened with the ps4: new games but also a lot of remasters. Chill out, everything will be allright.

Once again, this guy gets it. It's standard fare for any new console to recieve ports/remasters until console specific games are made.

2 Things on this, why is Nintendo held to a different standard than the other two major console makers? They both have released mostly re-hashes, "Backwards Compatible" games, and sequels. No new IPs. Secondly, their price points are up around $400 at launch, but Nintendo has to keep their console to "Around $250" or it won't sell? What is up with the hypocrisy when it comes to Nintendo vs. Xbox and PS4? I really don't understand it.

That being said, I am getting the exact opposite feeling. People are STOKED for this thing. Just for comparison's sake, the Wii U has been out since 2012, right? Looking at the respective views between the Wii U reveal trailer, and the Nintendo Switch reveal trailer the Nintendo Switch is already ahead of the Wii U trailer by almost 10 million views. There is a lot more interest. Not only that, but there are new IPs coming, there is a new Pokemon, new Zelda, new Pikmin, and sure these other games are just modified and upgraded versions of the Wii U versions. But WHO has played the Wii U versions? And WHO in their right mind doesn't like all of these games? I love them, and still play them from time to time. If I can take them on the go, I may play them ALL of the time, who knows?

But yeah, I think the OP is probably worrying about nothing, this system is looking more and more like Nintendo is all in and like it is going to sell gangbusters when it is finally available to the public.

1. I dont hold Nintendo to different standards. I only play Nintendo so I have no standards for the other consoles... But people say the Switch can't be $400 because it will probably be graphically inferior to the other systems and it would be hard to sell a weaker console for more.

complain complain complain. The system hasn't even been announced nor have the games releasing with it been officially announced.

and if you're truly tired of Mario Kart, Zelda, Smash- then the reality is a Nintendo system may not be what you're looking for in any iteration again, because those type of party and adventure games are going to be the vast majority of their library every time around

One thing's for sure though- everything at this point is mostly a rumor. There probably will be plenty of Nintendo ports to the Switch but until there are official announcements there is no need for these dramatic whiny threads. For all you know a Mario Kart 'port' for example might have so many enhancements and changes that its practically a different game

This is just getting ahead of yourself and complaining for the sake of complaining. On January 12th or whatever when there is more information, that's when its fair to complain and criticize the library. Nothing is official at this point in time and as others have mentioned there has been vague discussion about some of Nintendo's studios (Retro) possibly working on new IP's

Don't worry theres a 50% chance it will be at least as successful as the Wii U and a 10% chance it will sell GameCube numbers

A console/handheld with half the power of an Xbox One, what can possibly go wrong!

Stolen from GAFs official thread on NS. I don't see an issue. Especially considering there are surely quite a few games we don't even know about that will be confirmed on Jan 12th as well as throughout the year. I fully expect all 3rd party games announced in 2017 to include NS.

3rd party hasn't been mentioned yet, relax and wait.

There's six games i'm interested in.

I get not being excited yet, but I don't think there is much need to be worried. Ports are just kind of part of this generation now. If it's after January 12th and we still just have ports announced, then that would be the time to be concerned.
