I haven't played a large number of 2016 games, but given I think UC4 is not the best in the series I would have to say I'd be disappointed in the state of gaming over all if UC4 won a lot of GOTYs. For me I felt having the chest high foliage stealth element was overused and as I am a rather cautious player it meant the pacing of the game was too slow. If they halved the areas of the game where chest high foliage was available for sneaking and hiding I think that would have been a better paced game over all. And unlike the OP I thought the relationship thing with Nate and Elena, especially with Nate lying, was annoying.

Disagree. Forza Horizon 3 still GOTY for me.

I don't remember being pissed by the high grass... I used bolders, blocks and being handhelding a looooooooooooooooooooooot more than high grass to hide myself.

No not for me. It's not even the best game on PS4 this year. It's far too uneven and poorly paced to win top honors.

Some games in contention for me are Severed, RIVE, Pokken Tournament, Song of the Deep, Gears of War 4, and Infinite Warfare.

I liked Forza Horizon 3 much much more personally, just the fun of it, also so far Watch Dogs 2 is impressive. Anyway its the best adventure game, and best ps4 exclusive of the year, but its not my personal favourite game of the year, the beginning was a bit slow, but it was a technical masterpiece and once it picked up the pace, I did really enjoy it.

I haven't really thought about which game deserves to be goty in my opinion.... But Uncharted 4 isn't it.

After playing some of the game again on ps4 Pro, it just stands out more and more as a game that plays itself--with some awesome battles thrown into the mix, but still.

I'm going to have to look at 2016 releases that I've played and come up with something.

Shit.

I looked at 2016 releases. There are some good games that couldn't get me to part with my money. Overwatch, Forza Horizon 3, Titanfall 2. And there are some games I've really enjoyed like Inside, Gears 4, and Telltale Batman-- but absolutely NOTHING I've actually played screams GotY material. 2016 may be the worst year of gaming I've ever experienced. Most of my titles are Remasters and rereleases!

And I guess Uncharted 4 wins the title be default. Wow.

Why did you felt it played by itself? For me it was a lot more free than previous UC games (and driving in open world was a loss for me since I don't like open world =´[ ) Since you are giving it by default the GOTY I'm happy for the nomination, but sad for the reason.

Rez infinite is my goty. Incredible experience, played it through at least a dozen times.
Uncharted 4 was entertaining, though dropped the ball for me at the end.
