Is it really that hard to figure out why they do this? It's a smart solution to the problem of having too many bundled with X game and too few bundled with Y type game. You let retailers make bundles as needed.

It also gives consumers more options. Why would anyone complain about a pro-consumer move?

Sometimes I just cannot understand how people think.

Ultimately, this mean stores can carry more stock without having to worry about winding up with a ton of unsold inventory.  Gamers don't have to worry about the store only having the collector's edition for another system, and if they buy the game and love it they can get the collector's edition later on.  It's really a win-win-win.

My only qualms with this is if it's actually being called a Collectors Edition. It is a thing for collectors, like commemorative Elvis plates for nerds, but the word 'edition' would imply the game being included.

It would also be a massive waste of potential if the DLC was system-specific.
