Forums - Gaming - GTA 4.ps3 vs 360 winner take all well almost

Hmm didnt have time to skim thw whole thread, nor find the qoute from take 2. It read something like this.

" Microsoft paid 50 million for this downloadable content, that cost more then thee entire game. If you honestly think it will add a few cars and a mailbox on every corner, you are sadly mistaken"

I think everyone should just invision how much 50 million dollars buys in the hands of one man, then apply that to what a game company does with more money then they spent on their game, just to add extra content. This DLC to me should be huge. I'm pretty sure were going to have a GTA 4.5 on the 360 and a GTA 4 on the PS3.

Just my 2 cents, I dont even play the games mind you.

Think about things in a long-term point of view, I'm gonna snatch it on ps3, even though i'm a little upset about the DLC being 360 exclusive. But Sony has better titles to bring in the long run, resistance 2, The Tekken 6 +, final fantasy series, the list goes on. Personally if i bought it on 360 that would be the only game i'd want to play but after I get bored with it, then what???????????? non interesting titles that nobody cares about.

PS3= Fa Sheezy

Xbox 360= Non-crackin

I'm getting the PS3 version for a few reasons:

-It's the technically superior version

-Better controls and the motion sensing sounds like it's integrated well

-I'd prefer to play it on a quieter, more reliable system. I hate to beat a dead horse here, but I really don't want to risk getting RROD right in the middle of GTA 4.

-Home integration sounds interesting (whenever the hell we get to use it)

-The 360's advantages just aren't that important to me. I never use custom soundtracks, don't really care about achievements and rarely use Live's fancy features.

-I'm really not a fan of this whole DLC fad that seems to be everywhere this generation. Saying that, I'd be shocked if the PS3 version didn't eventually get it's own exclusive episodes.

-This way I'm not supporting Microsoft.

-And finally, I've ALWAYS played GTA on Playstation consoles. Call it brand loyalty if you want, but GTA on another console just wouldn't feel "GTA-ish" enough.

All valid reasons. Valid, I say!

I'm holding on to my cash. If the DLC doesn't catch my attention then I'll go for the PS3 version. I'm still clueless what the DLC is. Does anybody have a link or know what the DLC for the 360 is?

Someday a monkey wrench will be thrown and Rockstar will announce a Wii version of GTA4 that somehow maintains the graphical capability of the 360 version. After that announcement, many instances of spontaneous combustion will be reported around the world.......

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

It's funny how much this thread highlights apparent fanboism before facts are known. Hell, 90% of the comments concerning "development issues", and "unconfirmed sources", "that's not proven", ect... Are now known fact.

Truthfully it was never disputed that the 360 version was going to sell more in NA, but it seems that the Europeans, (and certainly any Japanese GTA fans, there aren't many) are going to be buying it for PS3.

BTW, I've already convinced 3 people with the help of the IGN review to buy the PS3 version instead of the 360 one even changed his preorder. (all three have both systems.) I wonder how many other people are going to be changing their mind based on popin and load times.

Plenty of PS3 games have DLC why would it be a selling factor for either console ??.
The PS3 version will fit more on the disk in the first place mabey they dont need any DLC for the PS3 version if it has everything on the disk allready perhaps ?
How does the 360 get downloadable content for the core system ? just curious it has no hard drive , does it have some user flash memory like the Wii ?

The DLC is still being made, and no, it's not coming out on the PS3. Some OTHER dlc might come later for the PS3, depending on whether Microsoft's contract with Take Two allows for that to happen.

Regardless of whether the contract allows any story-based dlc on PS3, I cannot envision a situation where Microsoft would allow it to be PS3 exclusive.

For example, if the PS3 were to get two dlc episodes, then the Xbox 360 would have a total of four.

It's good to have a choice between 2 decent versions of the game.

PS3 version runs slightly better, which is what will sway some people.

Whereas the promise of DLC will sway other people.

There are also a substantial amount of people who have been waiting to get a HD console because of this game. Have they been waiting for the PS3 or 360?

Noone knows.  All we have is regular assertions from Rockstar and Microsoft that it will be BIG!!!

The exclusive episodes for the 360 are nice, but offers no real system selling potential. Free online multiplayer, free Home integration + DLC, no disc scratching / RRod worries, alledged better graphics for the PS3 version, no annoying drive noise, etc should be of greater importance.

A PS2 GTA fan will probably prefer the PS3 controller which is very similar to the PS2 controller, also all major PS2 exclusives (Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, The Getaway, Jak & Daxter, God of War, etc, etc) are more or less all comfirmed to come to the PS3 exclusively.

Really... Does nobody here see there are some very strong points to the advantage of the PS3 summarized above? IMO much stronger than the 2 non-free future espisodes nobody knows anything about and cheaper entry price (but lots of hidden costs as well as much lower entry specifications).

umhh...better graphics? how do you know? just because is ps3?..  or is just your personal opinion.. ?

if you compare the games that come out in both consoles you'll see that there is a clear winner and it isn't the ps3.

You do realize that multiple sources have stated the the PS3 version clearly looks better right? Apparently you threw in your opinion not knowing anything about the the subject. Really, I know you're new but don't talk out of your ass.
