Firefox 3 comes out in June.  Uses half the memory that Firefox 2 uses.  Also less than IE, Opera, and Safari.

It better use less memory - right now it's using a whopping 10% of my 2 gigs of system memory (and I've seen it go as high as 15%)..to put this in perspective, my OS and desktop manager only use a total of 5% on boot-up/idle.

I guess unused ram is wasted ram though...so maybe it's good that it uses way too much for what it is?

How do you know it will have less memory than the unreleased Opera 9.5? Since Opera was better previously, I have a feeling it will be better then too. I guess we have to wait for the final release of Opera and Firefox to see which one is better.

Yeah but would that be fair, comparing Firefox 3 (Which is still beta) with Opera 9? The fair comparison would be Firefox 3 (final version) vs Opera 9.5 final version.
The thing is Opera 10 is supposed to be better in everyway and has already scored a 100% on the ACID tests.
Although I am pretty sure the guys optimized their code to score higher on the test, it still says something though. Opera 10 is supposedly also being worked on, and unless Firefox 3 completly blows Opera 9.5, I am guessing Opera 10 will outperform Firefox. 

Hey choose whatever you want. I was an avid firefox fan, but they went in too much of the wrong direction with firefox 2.   

Firefox, less virus and freezes

I mostly use FireFox.. but Opera is actually the fastest and I have both of them installed on this computer.. IE is still there cause you can't really get rid of it but I never use it.

the only reason IE is on my computer is for the retarded fact that microsoft forces you to use IE to update the computer.

I've never been a big computer guy so I always used whatever is already on my comp. (always IE) but after seeing all these pro-Firefox posts, I want in......where do I get it? Is it free?
