Sometimes I wonder if the unveiling of Scorpio's specs resulted in Sony not unveiling the Pro at E3.

Makes no sense being that the PS4pro spevs leaked sinve way back in marvh and ended up being the exact same thing that was announced in September. Delaying a release based on specs would have been the case of the PS4pro ended up being more powerful than originally leaked. Besides, it also makes no sense announcing the pro 5 months early when you are currently the leading console in the world. Anyone that wants to buy a PS4 would just wait and see what the "new" console is about.

OT: As for the scorpio I think it's obvious their hands were forced. they just released a trailer of talking head and what not. The last thingS wanted was for Sony to release their iterative console and then next year at E3 MS comes with a "me too" device. Also, they wouldn't want that during this period all anyone is talking about is PlayStation. Imagine how things would be if MS didn't have scorpio to be brandishing about right now.

I guess I'm glad they revealed the Scorpio early. Saved me money not buying the xbox one S with the excellent looking FH3 (it will still be good next year) Which left me with more funds this season to enjoy psvr to its fullest extent.

Stupid move, revealing a new console for his year, then saying but wait, we'll have a much better one only 1 year later. Essentially it made my ps4 pro purchase a lot easier.

at least they did the job fueling xbox fans to looking down ps4 pro 4.2 terraflop so they have a reason to not buy PS4 pro. Is a big mistake from SONY as well. If SONY can keep the secret 4.2 terraflop would have been a wow factor

Why would a console that doesn't come out in a year be any thread to an existing product? Looks like PS4 Pro is doing pretty good. I mean it's a PS4, but better. You don't even have to advertise it for people to run out and buy it.

It's not much of a thread but it's all MS had to give. That way they can maybe convince a few die hard Xbox fans to wait in case any were thinking of jumping ship. It was either announce that or announce nothing which do you think is the better option? Honestly makes me wonder if they'll be able to deliver on their promise of the release date. If they do will it be a reliable system or will it be rushed and filled with issues or need updates to make it a complete console?
