You're not talking about similar shooters.  that are frankly completely irrelevant to cod/titanfall/bf.

BF1 won't be a ghost town but it will be a far lessor experience down the line in terms of player base.  cod this year already has low numbers.  it will be a ghost town.  titanfall has tiny numbers. it will be a ghost town.

That's 2/3 main shooters this holiday and the third not ideal.

Only 31k online right now. That's not ideal so soon after launch.  peak is only 90k. this wont be pretty in 12 months.

And you're only talking about 3 games, which is irrelevant as to what is being played on PC compared to console.

It won't be a "lesser" experience down the line though, if anything BF1 has done better that Battlefront and actually has a proepr server browser, which PC gamers have been tossing at Dice since BF3.

CoD For as long as I can remember has done crap on PC since it started getting more and more casual and catering to a different audience (would you look at that).

Titanfall 2 is going to be played mroe than the first game on both platforms, even on consoles there will be those playing 2 than 1, especially since PS4 didn't even get the first game.

"That's 2/3 main shooters this holiday and the third not ideal. "

What you call ideal is entirely different and not objective.

176,021 in total across all 3 isn't really ideal either, especially with the popular console on the market, that should be selling millions upon millions soon as.

It won't be rpetty in 12 months for anyone if that's all there is to show in total for all 3.

It will be pretty on ps4 that's for sure and likely xb1 too.  titanfall pc and cod pc numbers are and will be tiny.

and yes it will be a lessor experience because it will be way less active.  pc players will have less active choice regarding game modes and regional severs as there will be less players.  and the dlc will be a nightmare on pc.  that will be a ghost town.  won't have the same issues on ps4/xb1

CoD numbers will be tiny for most as the years go on, Titanfall 2 however won't stay tiny for all of time. You seem to forget that PC doesn't do gens, so the sales go on and on over time, consoles however do have gens and with how broken up they have been over the years, sales tend to burst for a while and then taper off down the line.

No it won't be. There are plenty of other shooters out there to choose from and play with, that's the beauty of having actual proper choices with that platform, you're not gated to just blockbuster short fuse games. You're also forgetting that all platforms will include rentable servers as well.

Why don't you just flat out say all 3 will be ghost towns and completely dead on PC?, you seem to be reaching that plateau, I don't get why you don't come out and say it. But even then you'll be wrong about 2 of them.

Good, if that's how you feel better even not try. Controlers are good for some kinds of games, mouse and kb for others, steering wheels for yet another type. Nothing wrong with enjoying what you want. It doesn't mean servers are empty on pc, this is about the crappy windows store, not pc gaming. If something there will be servers on pc long after the game is dead and burried on consoles

For shooters like titanfall and cod and many battlefields the online steam servers are nearly a ghost town.  I'd never invest in those platforms for those games.  console is where the players are at.

Yeah, especially for titanfall and battlefield, the true definition of ghost town on Steam....

The games can only be played on Origin, they do NOT exist on Steam at all. I guess you were right on accident.

No, none of those games are ghost towns, that's just pure ignorance speaking. COD 4 Modern Warfare is still played by tons of people. And I'm not talking about the remake either.

This is a stupid argument either way, both platforms are viable (PC and consoles, obviously), my main point was that Windows store sucks donkey balls and it was expected for them by trying to compete with Steam.

It's interesting that this is coming at a time when the adoption amongst developers of the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) is in doubt. UWP is a new method of packaging Apps for Windows, which work on all variants of Windows 10 (desktop, laptop, tablet) and can only be installed through the Windows Store. It's hitting a dead end as developers can't sell their UWP games on Steam, they only work on Windows 10, and the Windows Store as is has been a colossal failure.

I wouldn't consider it outlandish that the Windows Store version of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare had separate multiplayer servers from the Steam version was due to Microsoft's interference. Either they demanded they have separate servers to try and take on Steam, or there is incompatibility between versions at a network protocol level.

Why would either of them shoot themselves in the foot like that?

Why would anyone think that would be a good idea? I'd love to know if this was an Activision or a Microsoft decision.

This obbiously was a MS decision. Activition vouldnt care less as long as their game is sold.

But this wasn't a bad idea (at least on paper). MS simply thought that doing this could grow the popularity or at least use of their windows store. And it would have worked if more people just bought off the windows store, or if they were smart enough to allow cross platform play between consoles and the PC gamers that got it off the windows store.

The way this ridiculous convo is going is funny....

Should I buy CoD, BF, TF on PS4, X1 or PC?
- Buy on PS4 or X1 depending on which console you own. They have much bigger usercount than PC on these titles.
-But DOTA and CS are bigger and striving on PC.

Why would anyone buy game X to play because game Y is big on that platform with X being small? It makes no sense.

When did anyone mention a Moba game at all?. Let alone CSGO?.

You make it sound like anyone playing any of those games on PC aere objectively insane or stupid.

That's the part I find most funny.

First 2 titanfalls have tiny numbers.  all latest cods for years have been tiny.  nearly all Dice games don't have big numbers.  varying from tiny to barely respectable.

Cod in future will be fine on ps4. point is no matter how bad they get the experience will always be greater on ps4 in terms of active servers. it's already much better on BF1 and that just came out.  we got a ton more viable options when it comes to picking servers that are full.
