Seems like Facebook wants to take games more seriously since they just announced a new service to compete with Steam. All kinds of games, according to the official site. They definetely have a huge network, but will they be able to convert them to their gaming service? Still, the more competition the better. We can't have a monopoly, can we?

Here is a pic of the interface:

Interested? You can try it now for yourself. I think, cause I really havent downloaded it yet. But we need a guinea pig so... whos wants to go in first?

I don't want to have anything to do with Facebook. I'd rather go back to Game for Windows Live.

Well, maybe not that far ...

Pocky Lover Boy!

"We can't have a monopoly, can we?"

There isn't though. We have:

GoG (Galaxy client is optional)
Battle.net
Bathesda.net
Uplay
Origin
Steam
Win 10 store

Likely more clients out there, but there definitely isn't a monopoly. If you want to cite Steam as one then I simply ask as to why the competition hasn't bothered to take on and open their gates to all those games that land on Steam. Valve aren't like Sony or MS in terms of tossing millions to lure people onto their systems, they just leave the gates open and ask for a bit in return, The competition like Origin and co don't have their gates open unless they strictly own or publish said IP's. The competition, including FB, should take Steam's approach and open their gates to all the games, rather than ones they own or publish.

As for their client and their slogan, all I can do is let my sides fall apart.

They have no chance against the rest of the competition unless they take the hardcore seriously. Sure they can win over the casual Farmville crowd (not like it's super hard to earn that crowd at all), but I don't see them taking the millions that game on Steam along with Origin, GoG and battle.net,

Come on. You don't think I was being serious, do you? I personally like GoG myself. And their Galaxy client is very nice and simple.

Gods no lol. I just find the general story and attitude from FB to be right hilarious. FB has lightyears to catch up with the competition and I definitely don't see them bothering to support any kind of modding community, which will be a huge deal breaker for most, even GoG allow for mods as well as Steam and bathesda.net, the rest have EA, Blizzard, MS and Ubi not wanting to support modding, but that's their loss.

Also I just wanted to list the other clients in case anyone on here thought Steam held some rich monopoly on purpose (they earned the high users and library over the years when the competition didn't bother though).

Wasn't Microsoft going to change their mod policy on their PC service? Anyway, Farmville with mods might be huge.  Anyone remembers farmville?
