 I was about to say the same thing Shio, except for the people who dont have any knowledge of pc games, the best rpg of 2007 was "the witcher".

Playing through Fable 1, I was VERY unimpressed, so I find it hard to believe that this one will be any better. But I have to, since it's basically in the same boat as Killzone 2. The first one sucked, so you want to believe the second one will, but I've been saying that maybe Guerilla learned their lesson, so maybe Peter Molyneux learned his also. Maybe this game will be full of win.

Sorry DMeister but I fail to see the comparison. 

The first Fable sucked hard. Why Fable 2 is supposed to be the best 2008 RPG? For me it smells like Killzone 2. The first game was all hype and turned out being mediocre.

Edit: Damn you DMeister J. Do not steal my killzone 2 argument.

I am definitely looking forward to Fable II. Fable was my favorite RPG on the original xbox.

I do have some concerns though...the idea of replacing a map with a dog to guide you around seems really corny.

And I don't like the idea of "one" button combat.

But, hopefully my concerns are unwarranted and the game will be great.

But please be a 20+ hour RPG...anything shorter is too short for an RPG.

As to why I said Fable could of been a Zelda-Killer in my eyes:

Fable, like Zelda, has a great easy-to-get combat mechanism. Both are over-the-head adventure games with RPG elements - Zelda has HP in the form of hearts, and so on. Fable is more RPG than Zelda, but I feel that Fable is the RPG simplified (as Zelda is the casual RPG perfected). Thats merely the way I viewed them.


Having said that, Fable wasn't nearly as good as what I hoped, because the length of the game was poor (for what it could of been), and the story was very weak. It's a bad game when you have non-gaming friends doing Fable Speedruns on their second playthrough.

Will Fable 2 sell well? Yes. It's going to sell very well. Go look at the "top 5" list - Mass Effect was the last game to have that high of dominance, and we know how that went. Fallout 3, on the X360, should sell atleast 2m copies worldwide (if not more), and Fable 2 is beating it by about 1.5:1 at the moment.

I don't "get" the Fable hype, as Fable was the biggest letdown of last-gen for me. F2 looks promising, and I will GLADLY agree that it looks very promising. But after failing on F1...I won't build anticipation for it. I'd say, of the 9 RPGs coming out this year, it *might* be #5 on a good day.

Fable one was let down by the fact that the title was hyped beyond it's capacity to deliver. In the end game's only real let-down was it's length.

For Fable 2, we are promised that the world is bigger, and that the game will be longer.

No, Fable was a terribly disappointing RPG. It was too short, too easy, weak story and characters, and the 'aging' feature(which was supposed to be Fable's main hook) was a gimmick and ended up hurting the immersion.

It's not enough to promise, Molineux also had made promises on the first one and when the game came it did not hold up to them.

Fable 1 wasn't a letdown at all for me, they hyped it and promised it to no end true, but it was still a great game in my opinion with an amazing style :P Fable 2 is going to be amazing, possibly the greatest WRPG I've ever played. As long as they're not bogged down with technical difficulties ala Mass Effect, this could take the slot from ME and Oblivion :P
