Wow, you really don't get it, disolitude... I've spelled it out for you at least 3 different times, but you still haven't seen it, I guess. You are not the majority. You do not represent the majority. The majority speaks with its money. The majority is favoring the Wii. There is nothing here that defies logic or indeed should be able to provoke any sort of argument. Every last word of it can be backed up with results, if that's your kind of thing. That you are tired of the Wii Remote is moot in the big picture.

This doesn't sound like much of an argument to me. More like..."I have no more arguments so I'm going to back up my argument with sales". Did you know that Britney Spears sells a lot of records too...yeah she must be an amazing musician.

For what it's worth, I agree with disolitude on several points.

The Wii's controller is inferior to a normal controller for certain kinds of games.  Yes the Wiimote/nunchuck work brilliantly with some games, but they're not completely superior.

The PS3/360 have a niche market of "core gamers" who enjoy what those consoles have to offer and they actually are the majority (28M vs 23M) of console owners whether you like it or not.

Once again, you've missed the point. "Quality" is a matter of perspective anyway, but the point is that it doesn't matter what you think. You do not represent anybody but yourself, and a single person in the big picture is meaningless. Go ahead and be bored the Wii Remote; most of the other 23 million Wii owners will be more than happy to keep playing with it even if you are. And more will join the ranks of those who own and enjoy the Wii. They don't need you to enjoy it, any more than Britney Spears fans need the detractors of Britney Spears to enjoy her music.

I see...I understand your point finally. So why do you post on forums when your opinion is worthless?

I think you should be asking yourself that question, actually. I'm perfectly secure in my main reason for remaining here at VG Chartz, discussing matters of business policy and marketing strategy. There's plenty to discuss there since the specifics of each company's policies and strategies are known only to them. It's a form of mental exercise to reason out what they might really be at. It doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong in my theorizing; the important part is the process of coming to the conclusion, which requires more than just stating my opinion; it requires me to carefully consider the data at hand and assemble a logical possibility.

You sound like an elitist and jaded VGchartz member to me...concerned with procedures more than having fun and a good discussion.

Oh, but I do have fun discussing those things. And I don't enjoy having discussions about how "good" a game is or how "bad" a system is; that misses the point I'm after, for the most part. I'm a different sort of poster from the norm, I know. Which is fine with me; I'm perfectly content to remain this way, different from the majority of posters. I hold no illusions to the fact that I don't fit in with the majority of these forums; I just don't care, as I still end up getting what I'm looking for here.

There is a difference between being jaded, and being different. Were I jaded, I would think that the alternative discussion topics are "wrong" somehow; I don't. I just don't care for them personally. It's no different from somebody preferring to read a good non-fiction book instead of a sci-fi novel, really; just a difference in tastes, but we still go to the same place to get our fix.

Fair enough...I don't think you are jaded after you explained that :)

I'm glad you understand. And I apologize for calling you jaded; that was very short-sighted of me. I don't have nearly enough data to know if that is the case; indeed, it could just be that your preferences tend towards a more traditional gamepad setup, and that the Wii Remote ultimately isn't as compatible with you as that setup is. Looking at your points, that sounds like what you were trying to say. Forgive me.
