There was a handgun there too.

My point is, people expected this to have no combat at all, even when the director itself said it would have. And I mean, shooting will probably work as a normal fps, but a bit slower. Its not hard to figure it out.

But one thing I will agree:Capcom is dumb for not showing actual gameplay(gunplay) yet.My guess is that they are holding for the demo to unlock a part with a zombie for you to kill, but they could have still showed something.

Knowing Capcom, they'll get the shooting mehanics almost right, but it's held back by a weird mechanic.

Sadly, you may be right.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Can't wait to shoot someone in the face with the shotgun and run away from everyone else cause that's what horror is

They already showed gunplay action in the Baker's Family trailer. No one was doubting the game would lack combat after that trailer; in fact that's not the problem people have with how the game is shaping up, at all.

Well, it has been for some time.I still remember people claiming that RE would become an Outlast-like game. But I agree thats mostly waters under the bridge now.I assume the problem you mention is that the game is in first person? If so, it is an understandable argument.I mean, I would also prefer the game if it were in third person. But the fact still remains that people issue with it is that its only because its in first person, not because the game is bad because of it, since well, the game isnt out yet.And that goes to show how people like to play it safe with games, even when they love to shout to all directions that they wished companies like Ubisoft, Activision and so on tried to do new things.(and that reminds me a video from Matpat that he made about it).

What I mean is:Its okay to be worried about the game and the direction it is taking, but as long as the game havent even released yet or have outright shown in the trailers something that isnt about the franchise at all(lets say FF becoming a fps multiplayer shooter for example), saying that the game will suck or that you wont play it because of reasons is simply silly in my opinion.

Everything we've seen so far indicates that Baker is inmortal, so weapons are useless at him. Unless Capcom shows something else, weapons are meaningless in the game, for example.

Up until now, Capcom has shown more Outlast than Resident Evil, actually, it didn't even show Resident Evil yet.

And that I can agree with both of you that it is a stupid decision by Capcom.I dont understand why they didnt show yet the zombies of the game(which there will be.I mean, otherwise the guns are useless and Capcom isnt THAT stupid. And in the game description which I dont remember where I read, it says you go against other creatures too). The reason Im not worried about it is the one I stated before in the (), but yeah, stupid decision.I think they are holding it to show closer to the launch so the marketing has that last HURRAH to promote the game.

I say to Capcom: Go nuts! They tried everything to please gamers in 5 and 6 and still where shitted all over. Althought 5 sold well.
Now, go crazy, do all sorts of crazy things! It is not like you are competing with Konami for the best japanese developer crown anymore, both companies lost all credibility and became jokes.
Do something new, if people hate it, who cares? They hated Umbrella Corps, they hated Revalations, they simply hate everything. Just do what you want Capcom.
That said, I fear they may fall into the "Walking Simulator" trap hundreds of horror games fell in today, I hope they remember what RE was: a tense slow paced game about a zombie outbreak, filled with puzzles.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

6 sold well as well, even if considerably less.
They tried to please nobody with 5, tho, they wanted it an action game, they made it an action game, they tried to please everybody with 6, and it backfired.

We don't just hate everything, we hate when it's a Resident Evil game and it doesn't deliver as so.
Capcom simply went everywhere with the franchise and most games stopped being what people who used to like the franchise liked (with 4 being an one in a million lucky shot, that Capcom just doesn't seem able to replicate again), naturally, they voiced against it, still Capcom keeps saying it'll bring it back to the roots and keeps proving to be more and more clueless with what that means, 6 was already the one said to be the one to bring the franchise back to it, while it was just stuffed on Leon's campaign and to an extent, while the rest of the game was more of what people have been complaining, now the focus is horror, but they are throwing away everything else and it isn't even recognizable as Resident Evil up until now, you yourself already seem more aware of what it should be than Capcom.

I'm still holding myself, they keep saying those demos and trailers aren't the actual game (which is ridiculous, why keep this chain of misinformation then?), so I'm still waiting for them to show me that's an actual Resident Evil game and that's gonna be a great one for a change.

5 first stage was brilliant, and it was a fun co-op game. I think the game will intercalate moods like the trailers do.

But if you are right, and the final product is nothing like the teasers, then Capcom is just stupid.

5 is a good game all around, what hurts it is being called Resident Evil.

No more than 4 being called Resident Evil, really.
