Square Enix is reportedly set to include PlayStation Pro support in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue.
Kingdom Hearts 2.8 PS4 Pro support on the cards?
That’s at least according to Twitter user aibo, who claims that a new interview with Tetsuya Nomura, the creator behind the Disney-RPG franchise, confirms that 4K will be supported via PS4 Pro for the upcoming. The interview is reportedly due to be published later this week, so we’ll have to wait and see if this is indeed the real deal.
What isn’t known at this point however is if the PS4 Pro resolution boost will be native or upscaled, though we’ll hopefully be able to clarify this at some point. For now, it’s probably best to take this with a pinch of salt until the interview pops up online.
Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue is scheduled for release exclusively on PlayStation 4 on January 24, 2017. The game includes a high-definition remake of Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, plus two all-new titles that help flesh out the story: Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage.
The bundle is the third remastered set for the Kingdom Hearts franchise, following on from the PS3-exclusive duo Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix. Final Chapter Prologue will serve as a prequel to the hotly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3, which is currently in the works for PS4 and Xbox One but without a release date.
Kingdom Hearts launched back in 2002 and has seen a number of sequels and spinoffs over the years. The franchise has sold over 16 million copies worldwide to date, and has spanned numerous platforms such as PS2, PSP, 3DS, and mobile.
