Core female gamers likely matches female game developers, in other words 5-15%.

Still interesting to see just how much mobile affects japan as compared with US and UK.

What is core gamer again? If someone spends 10hours/day on a mobile game, is he/she not hardcore enough for you? Do people here actually have any idea how difficult it is to 100% a gatcha mobile game?

Tbh, im not surprised by this. I havent conducted any research, but its much easier to cross jpn female gamers stream on yt than male gamers. And they are actually pretty hardcore abt the game they play (some that i remember even have all units in FF:BE)

Any number of made up defintions.

People will use each definition to bolster their argument.

So for me a core gamer would be one that spends a ton of $ on hardware and multiple software games for the sole purpose of gaming. So that means people who spend money on mobile phones and a single game are generally counted out of my definition. It also counts out console gamers who bought it to watch movies etc. or the ones who just play madden every year. (which I pretty much consider a single game with roster updates)

Point being, people don't buy mobile phones to play games (for the most part). People buy game consoles to play games (for the most part)

Surely you know the difference between core games and mobile/casual games, right? I'll give you 2 examples - Uncharted 4 and Candy Crush. Which is which? I think you know the answer.

I would say that the easiest divide to define is between those who game mainly as a distraction via non-dedicated devices with a focus on freemium games of little substance (mobile market makes up the bulk) and those who game primarily on dedicated gaming devices with a focus on substantive preemium games. It's not hard to see, there is a grey area, but the vast majority do fall on one side or the other.
