Forums - Gaming - Have you ever... Amazon Edition

Okay so I am sitting at work and low and behold the admin walks over and hands me a package from Amazon.

Now, I'm completely stumped.  I don't recall ordering anything but alas I open it up and its:

Well wasn't expecting that.  But yes I did order it.  So the question is:

Have you ever ordered games on Amazon and then months later forgot you ordered it until it suddenly arrives.

Also, any thoughts on this game?  Impressions?

Nope.

But I do order shit all the time from Amazon and have the app on my phone so I get shipping alerts frequently.

Never happened to me. I do preorder some stuff, that will be hard to get at all or at decent prices later as long as I know I want to buy it and am confident in the quality (Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition for example).
But so far I've never forgotten that I had ordered something. My budget doesn't allow for that either.

You get Amazon to ship games to your work? Doesn't that piss your boss of or anything? What's wrong with your home address?

Anyways, no I don't think I've ever done that. I don't usually pre-order unless it's a game I really want, in which case I'm not going to forget about it easily

I just moved and for some reason UPS wont leave packages at my place.  So, I just get it shipped here.  LOL I ususally don't forget.  And I saw the game getting reviewed yesterday and was thinking to myself : "May I'd like to play that"

From my lips to Amazon's ears apparently!

I'll admit - this happened to me with Watch Dogs WiiU.

Since my pre-order was store pickup @ Best Buy - if I didn't show up to pick it up, I wasn't charged anything. So I just didn't pick it up. I stayed home and played Smash instead.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Nah, I have buyer's remorse, even when games are 5 euro I still have buyer's remorse and can't sleep and stuff.

I buy all my games in my local game store, so no.

Not really. But back during the early days when I first worked at my current place of employment, we had a Gestapo mail policy that when anything came in the mail at work it WILL be opened for inspection unless it's marked "PERSONAL." Just to give everyone an idea of how long ago that was, it was shortly before the days of DVDs.

What I ordered that I had sent to the office were like five or six VHSs. Normally when a package arrived, you're called to the front desk to pick it up. Not this time. Boyd from personnel personally walked by my desk, requesting me to see him in his office.   Lo and behold, my package of VHSs safely arrived and was sitting on his desk. I knew everything arrived safely because the box was already opened so I can see titles like "Big Tit Bonanza," "All Star Lesbian Lust," and a bunch of others I cannot recall.

Since then, I've trashed the VHSs in one of those big green garbage bins (The poor video quality made my eyes bleed.), Boyd left the personnel department because he was under investigation, and no more Gestapo mail practices here at work. I've since moved to DVD's (before the advent of Blu-Rays of course) and have purchased a a handful of hentai sent to work without the risk of being labeled an "Otaku" by my coworkers. Life has gotten better.

Nope. I'm on there pretty much everyday, and i check the open orders under my account, a few times a month.

No, I don't buy things very often online so when I do, I keep a mental note of it :p
