It makes women look sexy. What people think of them is a different matter. Being called sexist just because you don't appreciate a women's character and maybe really just find her body attractive is ridiculous. Especially coming from a man. I go by train to work every day. I see a lot of very sexy women and I look at them because I like what I see. Now you are calling me sexist because I don't walk over and ask them for their name and hobbies? I watch porn because it's stimulating to watch. I don't give a shit about the character of the actors because my body doesn't give a shit either. Again, I must be a horrible sexist objectifying women like that. I'm not even mentioning that we're talking about fiction here, which is intended to stimulate without unnecessary details. Yesterday I dreamed about a beautiful woman giving me a blowjob, yet I didn't even ask for her name. Then I went to the police let them arrest me because I produced sexist material. And you know what was the worst about all this? It was also racist because the woman I dreamed about wasn't even black because I'm not attracted to black women. I'm just the worst scum aren't I? I would tell you more but I gotta go meet up with my KKK brothers sexually abusing some Jewish women. You should really listen to yourself. |
As I said in a previous comment, is not about what you or I think. It's about what the person that makes it thinks. It's about their objective. Dead or Alive developers wanted to make the women of their game a sex catalyst to men. Nothing more. They really are nothing more than that. That's sexist.
It's not like in many videogames or movies where they pick up a sexy actress or they create one because they're aesthetically nice for the audience, no matter gender and sexual orientation... but then they give them a personality, an objective, dignity, strenght... Lara Croft is sexy and I appreciate that. But is far more than that.
Being atracted by women/men/whatever is not sexist. . It's a primary instinct of many animal species, including ours. Thinking of women EXCLUSIVELY as a sexual object IS sexist. Porn is usually sexist. And people who gets excited by watching a sexist attitude is sexist. I'm not talking about getting excited about the sex scene itself, but about how the women is depicted and how men treat them.
We're starting to get too far from the OP, so I'll leave it here. But before that, I would like to say you that trying to reduce my arguments to silly thougths to try to stand stronger is really lame. Especially if that's the only thing you can do to argue with me.
Also, I think you're sexist. Bye.

In most adventure stories you have to buy into a bunch of tropes, sexism being one of them. The one trope, especially in games, that is most prevalent is the one lone hero that has to save the world. The hero is often the one person without resources, knowledge or connections (Link/Frodo). Even if the hero help to liberate other more resourceful people (Zelda/ all the kings and queens in middle earth) the hero himself (sexism - almost always a male) has to do all the difficult work whitout the assistence of magicians, armies and other powerful entities.
Otherwise there would not be an adveture at all.
