Today No Man’s Sky Creative Director Sean Murray gave an update on the situation of the game, and it appears that the game has overtaken the predictions of the development team in terms of number of players.

You're not going to see me around here as often as usual if this game keeps my interest the way it is currently. I like Jim Sterling but by Christ did he got it wrong with this game.

so it's "dress up" the game, copy a rhino head here, a t-rex body there, multiply with 16 mirrion colors and you got 32 mirrion variations using just 2 "body kits"

Sort of, these are both part of the same species, different breeds. 

I guess I'm going to delete my 8 hour save and start over tonight. It seems there is no solution to the pre-order bonus bug. I can't leave the starter system as the game is keeping anti-matter unavailable for a tutorial step that will never appear. Pretty disappointing so far.
Discovered 4 planets, 5 species, 21 words so far, flying a 34 slot trader which took a lot of mining to get. Delete.

Btw can't you 'discover' fish? They don't seem to respond to anything. I saw some weird stuff swimming around in the depths of one planet. I don't know if it's intentional but the game also put all the points of interest on the bottom of the water. Barren flooded planet.

Yes, I've discovered both aquatic and aerial beings. 

Discovered a good 20 or so of those and say a solid diversity of types of species.
