Yeah that might be the case but the rumors say the controller portion would be removable (whatever that means), and from a design standpoint it is a bit of a nightmare but if Nintendo get right it could very well click with alot of people.

The interesting thing about an "ejectable cartridge chipset" is you could in theory upgrade the system through new "cartridges" in the future too. Would be a definitely interesting hardware concept.

It is interesting idea for sure but there are some problems with plug in stuff like that, more so if people change the chipset around alot as it can degrade the conections, but im sure there is fix for those issues.

Reminds me a lot of the lower portion of the 3DS, with a added circle pad. Interesting shoulder buttons though.

Yeah pretty much copy pasted most stuff from the 3DS when comes to the controller part, but I've been a fan of the analog triggers ever since the Dreamcast. So i came up with these so that in racing games you can accelerate and brake with the one trigger.

Suddenly I like this idea alot.

And the controller could stream whatever it needed to display on the controller part, via wifi from the docking station when that had the "brains" part (cartridge).

I can see detachable controllers working for left handed people, but not as a multiplayer controller. How are we going to play splitscreen Mario Kart on this thing?

I'm not sure what you mean? You could use the detached controllers like a Wiimote one handed or two handed, so the right hand controller used horizontaly (two handed) would suited better to a left handed person and vice versa for the other side.

A bit like the below picture which just found while looking for images to explain what i mean. In the end all I hope is that Nintendo make somtehing that feels good in your hands but doesn't look cheap.

Th animation looks great but I'm sorry that looks like a sad controller. A deformity created by accident this should never ever exist. Come on just looking at makes you think no way
