Virtua Fighter is a good game, but bland beyond belief. I bought VF4, but I didn't connect with any of the characters. VF5 was just a rental. Tekken series may not be as technical, but it's fun.

Soul Calibur beats 'em both easily.

Never played virtual fighter but I have all the tekken games for ps1 and ps2 so my answer will be Tekken.

I've only played Tekken 1, 2, 3 and VF 1, 2. I liked Tekken slightly more and even bought Tekken 2 (which I still have and never play because I prefer Square's fighters on the PS1).

Tekken. Around 2000 hours of gameplay since Tekken 2. We still have a small group of hard core (as hard core as you can get in Finland) Tekken fans that gather to play at my place, although more rarely nowadays when most have wives and family. I do like Virtua Fighter, but it's hard to find other people who are willing to dedicate time for actually learning the moves.

Ehrgeiz, or Tobal? I liked Ehrgeiz because I was a big FFVII fan. Soul Blade was my PS1 fighter of choice, though. Tekken 3 was a close second.

well i would say Virtua Fighter its the only one ive played you listed
