Fair enough.I guess its just dissapointing for me to see Japan not doing as good as it did in the past, especially when I accompany the COMG and see games like FF15 and many other games not performing(thus far) as it should be.

What is the "COMG" ?'

Is a videogame store(that has many stores of course) in japan that sells videogame. And in their website they have a list with points awarded to games that are most pre-ordered.Usually each point a game gets, it equals to around 1k sales more or less.We have a thread that is updated every day here in vgchartz.Never saw it?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

The "Official Japan Pre-order thread" ? I will give a look. I don't think that Final Fantasy XV will sell less than XIII on Japan, if sell more it already will be a good re-start for the series.

Isnt that list BS though, having been wrong most of the time with games performing better or worse than their pre-order suggested.

Its not precise, if thats what you mean. But its great to give an idea of what its going to perform, and as far as I know, it didnt dissapoint in that regard.

Thats the one.And if COMG is to be believed, FF15 will sell less than FF13 in Japan. And it kinda makes sense, since there are (currently) less PS4 than PS3 comparetely to the day the game launched.(I think)

I think that the numbers of PS4 will be nearly the same or even more than PS3, FFXIII launched on 2009 3 years after the console's launch (I don't remember the month) but I think that FFXIII pushed 300k+ Units of PS3 in the week of launch.

I hope that the game will sell more than FFXIII. Square Enix seems to be trying the mistakes that the last game had.

Yeah but I've heard it being completely off the mark many times causing hilarity.  People whine bomba due to the list and said bomba actually turn out to do well after release.

Wait wait.Thats not COMG fault then.COMG only points how the game is going to do first week and thats that. With that information, you can then speculate at will how the game will fare LT.One good example of this is Splatoon. It had a good opening(Around 110k if im not mistaken) but as we all know, it is now above 1.35 million in Japan alone.

Again, its just used to give an idea.Sometimes each point equals to 700 copies, sometimes 1500, but usually is around 1k.Can it get really wrong once every while?Yeah sure. But it more than makes up for the information, the tendency and the probability of a games success, making a reliable source of information.

Edit:Plus it only gives the pre-order information from COMG.There is more than 1 videogame retailer in Japan.Further cementing the fact that you have to take the numbers as a estatistic, an estimative, not actual hard numbers.

Yeah but I recall it was horribly wrong on first week sales as well. Some people trust in it almost religiously and take their list as a fact before seeing the official sales.

Yeah, then those people are wrong. But I feel like users here are very councious that a game can perform a little better or worse than what the COMG says.
