Yes, Disney Shanghai is costing them dearly. Also Disney way over produced too many figures causing massive overstock which is not a sound business practice. But only a short time before the cancellation announcement they said more content was coming, including another Star Wars playset and more Marvel content. Seriously Disney screwed up severely and cost hundreds of people their jobs, not to mention severely damaging their image. At least with gamers. This was clearly a totally unplanned cancellation and could have been handled more professionally.

They didn't have to burn so many people the way they did.

The deed is done. I went to GameStop yesterday and traded all my Disney Infinity figures in while they are still worth something. Not a bad haul. I got $200 US in store credit. Most all of the Marvel characters were used when I bought them, so I didn't take too bad of a hit. Plus I got Platinum on Disney Infinity 3.0 and enjoyed the time spent playing and making toy boxes so that in itself is worth something too.

When the DI servers get shutdown I don't think the figures would have been worth anywhere near what I received. I suggest people who have Disney Infinity figures who don't plan to keep them act quickly and trade before they stop taking them.

Now to plan how I will spend my $200.

Wow. I have never seen the prices of Skylanders drop so fast before. I'm getting almost everything for the Superchargers game for $4.00 each. Usually you have to wait until late August or September to see last years figure prices drop this low.

I just got this little guy here, Smash Hit and his jet powered monster Thump Truck for $4.00 each. Nice.
These are fine examples of the really nice character designs in the Skylanders games.
