Forums - Gaming - This is the reason why Xenoblade X's world is top notch

Yeah, it is my fav open world game. It really makes me feel like I'm in an alien world.

XCX was my first JRPG in several years actually!

People call this game repetitive and full of fetch quests - and in some aspects it is - but I don't think that's a fair assessment. The fact is that this game is VERY BIG and VERY COMPLEX. And because of that - it's really best to play with as much spontaneity as possible with very few preconceived notions on how you'll actually progress in the world.

You just don't easily get from point A to point B. You go to point A and while trying to get to point B you got to point X, point X.1, point X.2, back to point A again, over to point C, point D, and then you remember you had to go to point B - but now point D looks really fun. And after point D, you check out point E. Finally 10-15 hours later, you get to point B, but only because you were on your way to point F.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I really do need to get this at some point. Really trying to not spend so much money on things lately though, so i'm hoping to find a good sale or a used copy for a good price.

I don't think I agree with you, the player is suposed to feel small because everything else on the world is giant, and so are the mechs.

Either you don't understand what I'm saying, or we're at a fundemental disagreement. The player is definitely not supposed to feel small in the way that XCX achieves this. It's not a stylistic choice. It's very clearly a technological short cut. Being in a Skell doesn't make you feel like you're in this giant mech in this giant world, it makes you feel like the mech is human sized in this not-so-big video game arena.

A lot of pop ins and slow texture loading (didn't get all the digital packs), but definitely looks very nice

I liked the game but I think ppl got too caught up in the vastness and beauty of the world. It is a rather repetitive game, you explore a bunch of enviroments and do the exact same things 100s upon 100s of times on each one of them, not to mention the sidequests are extremely grindy and super shallow plotwise. Good game that coudl've been great with a superior quest design, better story and more variety on the activitys you partake. The world design is top notch tough, one of the best there is if not the best.

I find walking around to be fun. I don't have XCX, but in the original game I sometimes just go around to explore the world.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

It looks really great! Beautiful. What age range do you think the story in this game is? If I like more serious approach to storytelling in games, then, is this game something I would be interested in?

Is a large and beautiful world, best RPG this generation.

34 years playing games.

XCX world is amazing, an improvement over XC.

hopefully there's a NX remaster, more people need to play this!
