Forums - PC - My New Build (PSXB4.5onewtf?)

How much did you spend!

$4000?

I'll get round to building another PC when I've got more expendable income.

That's a lot of really, really fast storage. And a very sexy monitor, I really like those 1440p 21:9 monitors.

Congrats on your build.

The storage was a little outta hand but I really wanted to ditch spinning platters!  My HTPC has about 12TB of storage so when I need something I copy it via wireless AC which is surprising fast (75-80MB/s).  I only keep what I need on this system so it works out great.  File transfers from HD to HD in this system are crazy fast.

Pretty spot on with the estimate.  If you count the monitor it was over 5k.  My last PC build was the HTPC and I built that in 2009 (i5 760, GTX 770) and its been laptops ever since.  I actually droped my Lenovo y50 4k out of my backpack a few weeks ago so it was time for a new *dream* build.  This is by far the craziest PC I have ever used or seen :)  Works out great with AutoCAD and Adobe Premiere.

Nice one mate, congratz!

I'm still building my new PC this year.

Thanks man! Hope to get many years out of this machine even if it has to evolve a little bit!  Crazy how long a computer can actually last a person now days!

Have fun and don't forget to work with it with all the fun you will have while gaming with it

So many "with" in one sentence, damn!

Surprisingly it will probably get a lot more *work* done with it than gaming...  I use a PC all day at my real job but lately I am self employed as well so it's getting a little rediculous.  Probably should use it more for gaming.....  Or take a damn vacation..

All I can say is seriously that 1080 will be obsolete in under a year...

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

[Prediction Made 6/18/2014]

What video card isn't?  What phone isn't?  What console isn't?  What car isn't?

I didn't want todays tech next year when its $300 cheaper...

You pay to play if you want the bleeding edge.

Really cool monitor you have there ...

I like the idea of a curved 21:9 display but I'll wait for one that has HDR support with a lower refresh rate threshold ...

Damn son that totally blows mine out the water lol.

Nice build.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Depends on merchants if they got some hardware yet, just need 4 more, Core i7 6800K, AMD Vega, Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 4x16GB 2400Mhz & 2x OCZ Trion 150 series 960GB.

I'm guessing my build will be done on October because of AMD Radeon.

Also... This is my 20th anniversary time.

Thanks :)  I've been gaming in my living room on a console for so long I forgot what low lag and high FPS were like!  If I can keep the monitor pegged at 60fps with medium settings in certain games for the next few years I'll be happy.  I don't care so much about detail levels but I do like the response at 60fps.

Nice, I highly recommend the SSDs!  Probably the best upgrade to a PC ever.  My job is finally starting to transition to them and peoples reactions are priceless..
