The reason it didn't sell all that well and live long on PC was due to the fact it was expensive up front with the £45 game that also featured the DLC map packs for a near £40 that were thrown over time, couple that with the fact the game didn't have any server browser and just threw you in with randoms all the time and you had a recipe for a doomed MP experience (also the game being only on Origin will hurt sales since Steam has far more users than Origin would ever hope to have).
They recently announced that the maps for the upcoming sequel will be free which wins a lot of kudos in my books as that shows that the community won't be fractured in any way. I just have to hope they toss in a server browser to boot and chances of me finding games and partnering up with friends will be made a cinch.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
