Sony doesn't shy away from announcing games long before they see a release.

Its not only them, microsoft annouced scalebound 2 years ago, announced crackdown like ages ago and delayed it to 2017, nintendo announced zelda ages ago.

They all do this.

Indeed they all do this, some worse than others according to http://www.finder.com.au/62-of-games-from-e3-2015-press-conferences-still-unreleased

"

  • Only 38% of the games spoken about during the E3 2015 press conferences have actually been released.
  • Of that 38% of games released, 33% weren’t released until 2016.
  • Sony is the worst performer, with only one game released from its E3 2015 press conference in that calendar year – a small indie from Devolver Digital called Ronin.
  • Sony also has the worst record for releasing games announced at its conference in the 12-months leading to the next E3, at only 23%
  • EA and Nintendo are the most likely to release a game they showcase before the next E3, with 92% and 93% of their titles available respectively.
  • Nintendo also released 83% of those games before Christmas 2015, which is the quickest turnaround by far.
  • Sony and Microsoft did not release a single one of their newly announced titles from the last E3 in the 12-months since the event.
  • Year-on-year, we are seeing a rise in games not being released following an E3 showcase. Our analysis shows 50% of Sony’s, and 60% of Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conferences did not see a release prior to E3 2015. These have increased to 77% and 63% respectively for this 12-month period.

No long interviews, or boring monologs and charts.

Good to hear: gonna watch both MS and Sony's conferences later.

Oh man crazy how much nintendo has fallen! They will release exactly 0% of their games from this e3 in this year :/ that has to be a new low point in this statistic.

I have to say, it was a really good conference. They didn't have long winded discussions about their games, they didn't gloat about their products (At least for a good while. I hate when Andrew House has to say his usual "Best place to play" slogans), and they didn't have to explain things about their games while displaying it. They spent little time talking and let the games do that. It was really good and refreshing. The other shows seemed so terrible compared to this. MS's was good too, but suffered from some of these issues.

Also, not much cringe as well.

That said, I think the show was just pretty good. I somewhat feel the show was great moreso because the other shows were pretty terrible at times. Last year's felt better than this one. This one was more chill.

Sorry, that's not true. They got Pokemon Sun and Moon showing up, which is coming out this year. I think they'll be showing other games releasing this year as well.

I missed it. List of games?

With release dates too. I'm pretty sure basically everything will besides last guardian and GT will be at e3 again next year.

Besides COD, and RE7, and all of the VR stuff coming this fall, and Horizon, and Lego Star Wars, and Skylanders...

But yeah, God of War, Days Past, Spiderman, Detroit, and...Crash? Will probably be at a game show of some sort next year.

Though...I think it's worth pointing out that the reason the MS confrence wasn't like that is because most of those games were already on their second major gaming event.

E3 2015:

Gears 4

Sea of Thieves

Recore

Cuphead

Gamescom 2015:

Halo Wars 2 (won't be out until after Gamescom 2016 and might be there)

E3 2014:

Scalebound

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

You make this thread every year. Feels like you had already made your opinion even before the conference began...

Gaaahdamn that conference was as good if not better than last year's, just games after games after games, no talk, no indie montage(not that its bad though), just a barrage of 1st party exclusives. Single player games!

Damn! Why can't MS and Nintendo do this?

Nintendo did it in 2014. Yes, they had some developers talk, but while the gameplay was being shown.

I liked how they did their presentation.

However, most games were lackluster to me :
