What you're doing is filibustering  a discussion with a different possibility of PS4Neo capability, due to A.House ambiguous responses.

Even the perverstion of the meaning doesn't make sense. That's how stupid it is. If some games dont' run on the Neo then I'll be the first to call Sony stupid. We'd have a situation were ALL games run on the PS4 and LESS games run on the Neo. How the hell can anyone believe this? If there is a problem then it would have to be the other way around and that statement doesn't suggest that at all.

edit: Ok, so I've been looking at another comment and I'm beginning to wonder if indeed Sony are stupid. This statement DOES suggest you'll be wanting to keep your PS4:

“It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” he said. “We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle.”

Why would it need to sit alongside the PS4 if the Neo could play all PS4 games? Mmmmmm ... Is it even a console? Could it be an add on?

In other news the NEO will only come in fluorescent pink and will only work on the weekends from 8pm till 4am, cause you should be working your two jobs the rest of the time.

What's so clear about Neo that makes speculating logical? What kind of hardware will it be using? 

You don't know because you're just speculating like evryone else in here and you're letting cognitive dissonance get the best of you.

I understand what people are getting at, I have no doubt Neo will support all games. But this comment from Sony is worded terribly and can very easily be misconstrued as some games wont be supported by the new PS4. That's the problem, and to be fair Sony have messed up, they've had a lot of time to get their messaging straight with this. I don't think it's fair to say people are being stupid just because they are interpreting what Sony have said literally.

Why not simply say all games are supported by PS4 and Neo, but games released before Neo launches only run at the standard level unless they are patched.

It's common sense that a PlayStation 4 will support PlayStation 4 games. But please by all means continue with your thread made only with the best intentions.
