Forums - Sony - New Info On The PlayStation "Neo"

That's not what it means at all.

The PS5 Exists.

Seems more like clickbait than an honest misunderstanding.

All new games will have normal mode and Neo mode. Old games won't be required to have Neo mode but it can be added as a patch at the discretion of the developer. If it doesn't have Neo mode, then it will run on like a normal PS4 game on the Neo hardware.

That's pretty much common sense.

I will be buying this day 1 and I know a lot of people I know will be doing the same!

Always have known OP is really dumb but this takes it to new levels
If only stupidity was as ban-worthy as insults

That is NOT what he meant and it makes absolutely no sense.... he means that a few games may not take advantage of the power of the new hardware. Not that they would not work....

Exactly.

This thread is clickbait. Not surprising seeing who created it.

Exactly!   Best bet when people see these threads from the owner is to ignore until everything is confirmed.

Yeah, the Neo is going to be compatible with every ps4 game whether they have a "Neo" mode or not (considering most of them have already released before the Neo's existence, they obviously don't), it just means that not every game is going to take advantage of the extra gpu and cpu power, which is expected.

OP updated.

Yeah, it wasn't that difficult to understand was it. :)

Guess we will find out whenever they possibly spill the beans. Sony has to be careful though, you have to basically be as specific as possible these days or websites and people will jump down your throat putting words in your mouth or stretching the truth of what you said.

I really think it's probably for VR. The existing hardware of the PS4 just seems hopelessly dated for VR given the minimum specs of the Oculus and Hive. Of course, there's also the not-necessarily-coincidental code names of the two, the VR being Morpheus and the new PS4 being Neo (sounds pretty Matrixy to me).

There's probably other motives, but I imagine it's that more than anything. They have a ton of money invested into VR and they're going to do whatever they can to make sure it has a strong launch.

:o and Xbox is the One.

It's all a conspiracy!!!!

I hope we're not on to something... I refuse to walk around in black leather here in Jacksonville, I'll die of heat stroke.
