Awkward to read this comments and then see a thread with people who would buy Sunset Overdrive if it is on the Windows 10 store.

Kind of funny how their perspective has changed so much.
Regardless, I'm certainly not pulling for 'Xbox on Windows' in this form. UWP turning PC gaming into a closed platform is NOT what most PC gamers want and no one but the most fanatical of Microsoft followers would trust them as omnipotent curators. UWP won't wither and die while Microsoft has first-party titles to port over but I hope everyone else, both developers and consumers, continues to ignore it as much as possible. I removed the 'Xbox app' tile from my start menu on the first day I installed Windows 10.

If windows 10 PC's were an Xbox they'd get a cut Everytime gta or assassins Creed gets sold on it, unfortunately for microsoft they do not, so they'll push windows store and uwp and then be very upset when it doesn't work out.
someone hasn't been around when games for windows live was a thing :D
UWP needs to not only have killer apps but it also needs to be on par with other platforms like Steam in terms of functionality and features... As of right now... It is not even close...
PC gamers in general have high regard for valve and most remember how awful Games for Windows Live was so in order for UWP to work, it needed to be on par with steam in terms of features and functionality from the beginning which it didn't have at all. MS still can turn it around but I don't have confidence on them. They would need to secure killer apps and make developers build games for both UWP and Steam.
If they can make xbox 360 games work with UWP and port Halo MCC + Halo 5 onto UWP, it would be a good start tho.

If they don't distribute the games on platforms people already use, like GOG, Steam even Origin there is just a horrible dislike towards this because as a PC gamer you don't want to download your games over multiple applications (which is already happening) and if you do you definitely don't want to use the worst option, which seems to me like they are using with Windows Store, it just blows.

So if we think about it, Microsoft increase their install base significantly and became more relevant than ever. That is my two cents at least. Also, Microsoft stated in one of their leak documents supposedly that they believe anything that is running windows 10 is an xbox as well that is why you're about to get the xbox one interface on PC soon. |
Two things,
1. That is not what most people believe.
2. Xbox is officially a service... then why do you need an Xbox console.
Bonus: Microsoft can say what it wants but only when all Xbox games are avalible on Windows 10 can they even consider this remotely valid.
Bonus 2: PC gamers are going to freak the fuck out if you call their rig an Xbox.
