With a Vita version though, don't expect any technological steps forward.  Not that any niche Japanese series has really moved much since the PS2 era.

I genuinely have no idea what point you're trying to make here.  Did you read the post you quoted?  There's no last gen version but there's a Vita version, a console less powerful than PS3.  

If someone is happy there is no last gen port then thats dueto getting better graphics from the devolopers maybe, this is common knowledge now on the internet when it comes to gaming. Not saying this is what really happens just that this is what everyone thinks.
