Forums - Sony - The PS4 is not powerful enough?

no, developers are not powerful enough.

I have a gaming pc, a good one so i know about power... but  Uncharted 4 is incredible. yeah 30 fps and some minimal things, but this game shows that more than a powerful hardware, a powerful developer is more important.

Pretty much stating the obvious.

Uncharted 4 is already pushing the system to the limit though.... This isn't the end of the generation.

I Love Playstation, but my uncle works at Nintendo.

You don't know that. ND will get even more out of it with their next game. I read this comment every single generation.

The PS5 Exists.

Yeah they sure will, with the Neo.

they don't need to get even more, but they will do it with the PS NEO, better fps and better effects. But i don't think the normal ps4 is capable of more, uncharted 4 is a miracle for the current specs.

A powerful developer would have made the game run at 60fps.

Of course the PS4 isn't powerful enough. Nor XBO or Wii U or NX or Neo or anything. No console will ever be powerful enough for these guys because console devs always want to get into a dick-measuring contest with PC. A contest they can't win without cheating AKA making their games run at a sub-par framerate of 30fps.

EDIT: Let me just clarify - of course the PS4 is powerful enough, but I don't like that developers are placing unattainable expectations on it and making their game run objectively worse to cheat those expectations.

yes it's not powerful enough to make game like UC4 to either run SP or MP mode in 1080p 60fps...

By powerful developer you mean a developer with access to tons of money provided by Sony and that only needs to worry about one hardware (PS4) instead of PS4, XOne and all PC combinatios like most 3rd party devs?

Anyway the game is not only 30fps but some levels are pretty small and the enviroments are "dead", the only thing Nate interacts with are grass and the ledges he can climb, Uncharted 4 is impressive but i can think of 10 games (and more) that look better specially on PC. If we count console only then it's true that Uncharted 4 is definitely top 5.

More power hardware makes it easier for Devs to be lazier. If you really want your game to look amazing on the limited console hardware you have to work alot harder to optimize and tweak it. No cutting corners.
