Pachter predicts “Uncharted 4” will sell well, but the install base will limit sales: “It likely will sell between seven to 10 million units.  It's hard to attach at a rate higher than 25% of the 40 million PS4’s out there.”
Overall the “Uncharted” franchise has sold more than 28 million copies, according to Layden.

It's not clear as to whether it includes Golden Abyss or not. VGC has the series at 24.24m (sold-through numbers and without digital sales).

"Greatness from small beginnings".

I remember buying a ps3 magazine back in 2007 and flipping the page to see a 2 page advertisement for uncharted drakes fortune. It showed the scene where the U-boat was stuck up the top of the waterfalls. The caption was,

"One ordinary man, one extraordinary adventure".

I was like fuck it, never heard of this game but I feel like an adventure game so went out and bought it the next week.

I remember seeing the launch sales on VGChartz in December 2007 and they were shit. After playing the game and falling in love with it I was telling everyone about it.

Was so pleasing to watch it just continue to sell and sell every week on Vgchartz for a couple of years before it eventually had a decent total.

Uncharted 2 was revealed and got the series mainstream popularity and lots of people went back and bought the first. Drakes fortune ended up selling a lot!

Now look at the series. It's about to blast it's way over 30m sold about 8 years later. As the quote says.

"Greatness from small beginnings".
